Checking your controller on the Mac is as easy as making sure that MIDI messages are received. The controller should be directly detected by your Mac and listed in any MIDI applications and DAWs.

Monitor incoming messages:

You can monitor the MIDI messages from the controller using either:

• the excellent Snoize MIDI monitor (https://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/)

• the control panel page in Chrome: https://sound-force.nl/SFC_8_control_panel/index.html

  In the bottom left section of the control panel, you can find the MIDI monitor section. More information about the control panel in this section.

Opening the MIDI studio:

If you’d like to verify that your controller is detected by your Mac, open the “Audio MIDI setup” application (as found in Applications → Utilities). In the Audio MIDI Setup, open the Window menu and Show MIDI studio.

Device correctly detected in the MIDI studio:

The SFC-8 will be displayed in the MIDI studio when plugged in.

Device unplugged and greyed out in the MIDI studio:

When you disconnect the controller, the controller will be greyed out.
