Checking your controller on the Mac is as easy as making sure that MIDI messages are received. The controller should be directly detected by your Mac and listed in any MIDI applications and DAWs.
You can monitor the MIDI messages from the controller using either:
the excellent Snoize MIDI monitor (https://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/)
the control panel page in Chrome: https://sound-force.nl/SFC_Mini_V4_Control_Panel/
On the bottom left pane of the control panel, you can find the MIDI monitor section. More information about the control panel in this section.
If you’d like to verify that your controller is detected by your Mac, open the “Audio MIDI setup” application (as found in Applications → Utilities). In the Audio MIDI Setup, open the Window menu then select “Show MIDI studio”.

The SFC-Mini V4 will be displayed in the MIDI studio when plugged in.

When you disconnect the controller, the controller will be greyed out.
